riip beer company is located in sunset beach, a historic sub-district of huntington beach, california directly on pacific coast highway across the street from the beach & the bolsa chica wetlands. we started as a homebrewing operation, founded by two brothers-in-law in 2014 on a 20 gallon brew sculpture from more beer.

without the funding to afford the city permits that would allow onsite consumption at our brewery we decided to take our product directly to our customer’s doors. we knew we were creating a world class product and once the community tasted what riip was brewing we would build a stellar reputation and earn the respect of our community.

in 2016, riip beer company, for the first time ever, entered the notorious gabf (great american beer festival) competition and received a silver medal for super cali in the uber competitive american ipa category. brewed on our 3bbl system, riip beer became the smallest brewery to ever win a gabf in the american ipa category with over 400 entries from around the globe.

shortly after late 2016 with riip’s overwhelming success, attention and consistent growth, riip was afforded an opportunity to expand operations in 2017 and acquire additional space to build a much larger brewery to keep up with current production demand.

in april 2018, riip hired ian mccall to as the newest head brewer and to run day to day operations. that year at the great american beer festival, riip was awarded its second medal, silver for black the riipper black ipa. before the end of the year riip expanded again by dropping two more fermenters and hiring danny priddy as an assistant brewer.  the riip team was quickly growing and the accolades were just starting to roll in.

riip was quickly gaining traction in orange county and beyond as a craft beer destination. 2019 brought with it a slew of rad collaborations with breweries that have inspired us and our craft beer journey.
